About
Hi! I’m Karen (she/her) …
Yoga teacher, mother, wife, daughter, and lifelong student. Practicing for 30+ years and teaching for 20+, I have a deep passion for helping people feel stronger, more connected, and at home in their bodies. I’m based in Ojai, CA and originally from Dublin, Ireland. My approach is rooted in inquiry, breath awareness, and movement that supports longevity, vitality, and well-being.

Yoga Education
I am certified through the Integrative Yoga for Seniors Master Training at Duke University Integrative Medicine. My other certifications include hatha, vinyasa, restorative, yin, and children’s yoga. Learning never stops; I continue to deepen my knowledge through ongoing education, staying curious and from the experiences of a daily practice.
A Teacher’s Teacher
Teaching yoga instructors is a passion of mine. I educate teachers on safe, mindful movement and proper biomechanics. With 20+ years of experience, I help teachers create inclusive, effective classes that support longevity and wellness.
Specialty
Yoga for ages 55+ is my specialty, with a focus on building strength, mobility, and awareness for lifelong movement. My classes emphasize breath-work, self-inquiry, and intuitive movement to support both physical and emotional stability.
Yoga as a Lifelong Practice
Yoga is about more than just poses—it’s about developing a relationship with your body, moving with intention, and creating a practice that supports you at any age. I encourage students to explore the language of sensation, to really feel and have an intuitive conversation with their body. My goal is to help every student feel safe, supported, and inspired while building a practice that fosters holistic wisdom, strength, and sustained health.

Blending Science & Tradition
A deep love for learning keeps me constantly exploring the science of the body and the wisdom of yoga philosophy. I love to “geek out” on anatomy, biomechanics, and all the hidden gems of the human body’s extraordinary abilities. My teaching blends modern knowledge with traditional yoga texts, weaving breath work, mindfulness, and movement into a practice that is both grounded and evolving. The breath itself is one of my greatest teachers, offering a direct path to presence, awareness, and connection. Whether in a group class or a personal practice, I want students to feel empowered with tools they can use to move and feel better at any time.
